UH-Manoa and Salt Lake want extensions

Jeremy Moseley | Extentions | Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

The Star Bulletin reports, “2 regions want rail extensions“. The argument is that UH-Manoa students would ride the rail transit if it were to end at Ala Moana. The argument for the Salt Lake extension was based on a prediction of ridership. Others felt that deviating from the originally proposed UH-West Oahu to Ala Moana route may Jeopardize the entire project. I believe most people would agree that any route is better than no route at all. Those that voiced their opinion on an alternative route should be heard. Fresh insights should always be welcome. It is believed that Federal funding is more attainable with the proposed route. If it is then so be it, any segment will certainly be a welcome change to congestion and pollution.
